Iredell Early Colleges

Do you want 2 years of FREE college? Apply online to the 3 Iredell early colleges between Dec 1-Jan 15 for the 2022-23 school year. Open House dates: Dec 1 at 6pm at CCTL, Dec 4 at 10am at CCTL, Dec 7th at 6pm at Crossroads, and Dec 14 at 5pm at ASEC.

Winter Dance Performance

On Friday December 10th, we will be having our first 8th grade dance showcase at the Mooresville High School Performing Arts Center. The show will start at 6pm. All 8th grade students who are currently in a dance elective or homeroom will be performing the choreography they have learned over the course of the semester.

We are also looking for parent volunteers to assist with our performance. Volunteers are asked to meet us at the high school at 2pm on Friday December 10th. Please contact if you are interested in volunteering.

Progress Reports

Don’t forget that Progress Reports are going out on Friday, November 19th. If you do not receive an email copy of your child's progress report please email Mr. Akelman (

MMS Parent University

We cordially invite you to attend our Parent University Informational Meeting on Tuesday, November 30th at 6:00 pm at the Selma Burke Center.

This meeting will offer you the opportunity to ask questions and get more information about MMS including different ways you can contribute positively to our school. We look forward to seeing you there.

We hope you will reserve your precious time to attend the meeting.

Virtual MMS

The VMMS teachers have put together packets of things students will need for class in December. If you did not pick them up today, please do so by Tuesday, November 23rd. They may be picked up in the main office at MMS from 9 to 1 on Monday and 8 to 11 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, November 23rd, VMMS students will have an adjusted schedule due to early release. You can use this link to view the schedule. The VMMS teachers will be sharing this schedule with students as well.

This week, the VMMS teachers would like to recognize two students who have consistently shown the Heart of the Red Imp.

MMS Poinsettias Sale

MMS is partnering with Patterson farms to bring MMS Families the opportunity to deck their halls and help out the school with holiday Poinsettias. MMS will provide poinsettia for $15 and pick up at the school. All Poinsettia's are in 6-inch pots and come with custom wraps. Flowers can be picked up on Saturday, December 11th.

Minutes from PTSO Meeting

Here are the minutes from the November PTSO. Our next PTSO meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 1st at 8am. We will send out the virtual link to the meeting the night before. We hope to see you at the meeting!

MAWI Lessons

During one class session the week of November 22nd, the MMS ELA department will facilitate the following MAWI lessons:

7th Grade: MAWI Lesson #7- Get Organized

8th Grade: MAWI Lesson #7- Building Compromise

MMS is using the MAWI program to facilitate social and emotional lessons that are designed to help students build life-long coping skills.

Quarantine Content Support Schedule

Mooresville Middle School has created a Quarantine Content Support Schedule to assist students who have been quarantined for an extended period of time. You can view the schedule here. Our teachers are offering 1-3 sessions of virtual tutoring each week to help your students stay on top of their work. If you have any questions, please feel to reach out to the school or your child’s teachers. Thanks!
