Principal's Message

At Pinewood School we have three expectations for our staff and students: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.

This week, I have been spending a lot of time out on the playground and field reminding our students of these expectations. During these recess times, I complimented those students that were taking turns and using the equipment correctly. I also commended many students who played appropriately, keeping their hands and feet to themselves.

Our staff will continue to recognize those students that model these expectations and support those students who are not adhering to these rules. This week, I observed and addressed a handful of instances when students were not safe as they were playing too rough. We do not condone hands on play.

At home, I ask families to discuss and underscore appropriate outdoor play. It will help for our students to hear the same message from their adults at home and at school.

I appreciate the home to school partnership. Your support means so much.

Respectfully,

Kim Little

Student Council News

This week our student council met for the first time. A shout out to Mrs. Price for leading this group who will be providing input on events and activities for the school year. This group is committed to improving school spirit. Student Council is promoting Falcon Friday's this year. Each Friday, student council would like staff and students to wear their spirit clothes or our school colors (navy blue and gold).

We are also looking forward to the end of the month when we will have "Dress like your favorite book character. See the flyer below.

We cannot wait to learn about all the fun ideas student council will come up with this year. Congratulations to all the representatives who were chosen by their classmates to serve on this team.
