Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes is casued when the beta cells are attacked by your amune system lowering the amount of insulin being produced in your body. With low amounts of insulin your bodys blood sugar increases. Having high blood sugar can be dangerous to your health. Side effects can be lossing weight, thirst or hunger, lack of vision, and loss of energey. Treatment of type 1 diabetes requries you to take insulin everyday. Type 1 diabetes is called juvenille diabetes because it is inherited at birth. If you are in school it is improtant to let your teachers know that you are a diabetic and give your insulin to the school nurse and make sure the principle knows.

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is caused when your body does not respond to the insulin being produced in your body. This causes blood sugar to accumulate giveing you high blood sugar which is a threat to your health. Type 2 diabetes is more common in people who are overweight or not phisically active. It can also be inherited but is most common in adults. The sympthoms of type 2 diabetes are lossing weight, feeling hungrey or thirstey, having loss of vision, or having less energey then usual.  If you are in school it is improtant to let your teachers know that you are a diabetic and give your insulin to the school nurse and make sure the principle knows.
