I & II Timothy Women's Study
Weeks of March 9th and March 16th, 2015
A Note from the Teachers
Dear Ladies,
This past Monday, Philis guided us in taking a closer look at 2 Timothy 3:1-9. As she walked us through the passage, we were able to categorize patterns of thought, word, and deed of some false teachers in the church at Ephesus. These men held to a form of godliness, looking one way on the outside, but what was on the inside wasn't true.
We also learned together that Paul instructed Timothy to avoid men such as these (2 Timothy 3:5). Philis showed us that the word, avoid, means to turn yourself away. Additionally, she encouraged us by reminding us from Scripture that such men would not make progress and that their folly would become evident to all (paraphrased from 2 Timothy 2:9).
May our love be rightly directed toward our Heavenly Father. Also, may He continue to grant each of us both wisdom and discernment to recognize what is true, right, and good according to His Word.
In His Grace,
Erica, Philis, Amy, and Dianne
