International Speaker Coming to ICCS
While in hiding, anger and resentment were destroying Immaculee's mind, body and spirit. It was then that she turned to prayer. Immaculée wrote a book about her experience titled, Left to Tell; Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust. She is regarded as one of world's leading speakers on faith, hope and forgiveness. She has shared this universal message with world leaders, school children, multinational corporations, churches and at events and conferences around the world.
We are proud to present this spiritually moving guest speaker and special message with our students and families.
All ICCS parents are welcome to attend. A special book signing will take place immediately following the presentation. For more information about Immaculée Ilibagiza, visit https://www.immaculee.com/.

Muller's Loft Display Window
Another outstanding Project Based Learning unit has come to life! Our 5th Grade Art and Library students were asked the driving question: How can we upcycle used materials to create an eye catching window display? After weeks of learning about visual merchandising and the art of window displays, the students were ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. The 5th Graders collaborated with area experts to design, create and install the perfect Fall Season themed window display.
The students reached out to ICCS parents and school supporters to acquire an array of used items including acrylic wind spinners, silk and paper flowers, fall décor, tree branches and much more! Students worked closely with local business owner, Randy Lanza and his top notch window display team at Joseph’s Electric, as well as Lafayette Visual Merchandiser, Brad Hoang to transform the Muller’s Loft display windows, located at 625 Ryan Street in Downtown Lake Charles, into a beautiful visual art masterpiece.
After many decades of being empty, the once vibrant window displays of the old Muller’s Store have been brought back to life through this educational and artistic PBL unit. We invite all ICCS students and family members to check out the beautiful window display between now and the end of November.
This project would not be possible without the professional and artistic guidance of Ms. Lania Vanchiere, Mrs. Tenia Fuselier, Randy Lanza, Gwen Guidry and Brad Hoang. Many thanks to our teachers, local experts and students for making our school and community a better place to learn and live.
