Relay for Life
During the month of April, we held a Relay for Life campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society. We would like to THANK all the students and families that sent in money for this great cause!
The theme was "Don't Monkey Around, Put Your Neck On The Line, Support Relay For Life, Have A Roaring Good Time". Students could pay $1.00 to have their name on a monkey, giraffe, or lion to be displayed in the commons area.
The Gold Academy raised a total of $1128.66!
- Congratulations to Miss Woodard's and Mrs. Starnes' classes for raising the most money. They each brought in $88, and have earned a pizza party!
- We had 20 classrooms with 100% participation and they will receive a pop and popcorn party!
- Every student will receive a Flavor Ice popsicle since the Gold Academy raised the most money between the two schools.
THANK YOU again for your support to the American Cancer Society!

Medications at School
Please remember that ALL medication must be picked up by a parent/guardian by the end of the school day on Thursday, May 25th. The nurses will be in the clinic until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26th. After 12:30 p.m., any medications that have not been picked up will be destroyed and disposed of properly. Please feel free to contact Nurse Debbie or Nurse Carie if you have any questions or concerns.
Handicap Parking
There is a concern that vehicles without proper signage are parking in the handicap spots during our morning and afternoon drop off and pick up times. Please note that our Decatur Police Department will be issuing tickets to those who do not have a handicap sign that is visible.
