STAT Spotlight on Ms. Hines
Have you heard of Flipgrid? I recently learned about Flipgrid while attending ISTE this past summer. Lakecia learned about Flipgrid during her trip to Texas for the Conference for the Advancement Mathematics Teaching. I recently chatted with Lakecia to learn more about Flipgrid and all that it can do. WOW! This is one cool tech tool!
I experienced Lakecia providing video directions and questions for students to record their answer. Students can choose to type or provide a video response. Some students even chose to respond while at home. Lakecia can provide online feedback right on the spot!
Students "logged on" by creating a username based on their device/classroom number. They then accessed the lesson or activity by typing in the activity code (similar to Kahoot of Classflow).
Look for Flipgrid to be on our Pineapple chart soon!
Caught being STAT!
The 5th grade team loves when I join them at lunch! I join them almost everyday for some informal PD time. Here we are exploring Voice Thread. Bite-size PD at it's finest! Email me a Bite-size PD (PD during lunch hours in the faculty lounge) suggestion and you'll be entered into our next raffle! Thank you for the photo Mr. Brown!
Our Learning Walk to Rodgers Forge ES
On Friday Oct. 13th Ms. Santucci and I went to Rodgers Forge to watch a Makers Space lesson. 5th graders were given an authentic problem to solve within their school. Teams engaged with a variety of Maker Learning materials. Below are a few photos from our visit. Ask us about what we saw!
