GOAL #1: STUDENT GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

Irish or not, staff and students observed St. Patrick's Day in multiple ways throughout the district.

GOAL #2: CULTURE OF LEARNING FOR ALL

This week found me:

  • leading a secondary cabinet meeting;
  • participating in discussions about LHS/LMS sports fields and drafting communications;
  • leading our monthly central office administrator meeting;
  • leading our monthly Administrative Council meeting;
  • participating in a staffing discussion relative to the budget; and
  • participating in agenda setting.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday, Judy and I spoke on the phone with our attorney in preparation for the LABTA contract pre-meeting that afternoon.

I'm not hearing much feedback from the public about our soil contamination. I observed Alyson speaking to parents at the Spring Sports Parent Night Tuesday night and she did an excellent job in anticipating what questions people may have and giving the information before questions were even asked. At the end of her presentation and as a measure of the effectiveness and thoroughness, there were no questions.

The LTEA president cancelled the Roundtable scheduled...and previously confirmed by her...for Wednesday afternoon. I believe LTEA officer election is March 24 but I don't know who is running for various positions.

Thursday afternoon Judy took a contingent of Erin Servillo, Michele Deremer, Mindy Milavsky, Sam Fierra, Jessica Cincotta, and Yvette Panasowich to the CJ Pride Job Fair.

GOAL #3: LOCAL & GLOBAL COMMUNITY

The US Air Force Rhythm in Blue concert was Wednesday night. Lawrence High was their last performance of this particular tour as the group, headquartered in Virginia, performs up and down the mid-Atlantic states. Estimates say 200-300 people attended last night. Feedback was "Wow!" Below are a couple samples of the evening.

Thursday morning I attended a program entitled "Hidden Bias Gap - Gender, Race, and Zip Code" hosted by the NJ School Board Association at Middlesex County Community College. I was asked to say a few words about the "Day of Dialogue" program Mercer County School Board Association showcased at the dinner I referenced in last week's Corner and attended with Jo Ann, Joyce, Pepper, and Laura. You may recall that a diverse group of ten Lawrence High students and five staff members participated in the "Day of Dialogue" at Rider. Their photo is below.

GOAL #4: FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

A thank you goes out to Tom, James, Alyson and Ben for their immediate oversight and responsiveness to the dealing with the soil tests on our athletic fields and putting a plan together to test the water in our schools.

SUPERINTENDENT GOALS & PDP ACTIVITIES

Just a reminder that I have given every BOE member "view only" access to the Google folders that were once only visible by the Personnel committee. I will update these documents as needed. Please use the links below to access them w/your Google accounts and/or the accounts you use to access other committee agenda information. You can access this information at any time that is convenient for you. Please let me know if you cannot access the information.
