3.3.20 - Important News from Nurse Hicks
Dear Bobcat Parents,
This year we have seen a dramatic increase in the amount of conjunctivitis in the school and in the community.
The CDC website has great information. https://www.cdc.gov/conjunctivitis/about/index.html
If your child wakes up with crusty, bright pink eye(s) please do not send them to school, take them to the doctor for diagnosis.
Conjunctivitis can be caused by bacterial or viral infection, or it can be the result of a chemical or allergic reaction in the eye.
Readmission to School:
The student may return to school when the symptoms have subsided. If eyes are still draining/crusty the child should remain home.
The student may return to school with a note from the doctor stating that the child is no longer contagious.
Good handwashing practices.
An infected child should not share washcloths, towels, or pillowcases with anyone else.
Where possible, disinfect articles that may have been contaminated.
Dispose of used tissues properly.
Do not touch eye, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
Please contact Nurse Hicks with any questions.
Morning Front Drop Off, Park, & Walk-in - UPDATED
If you are using the front parking lot to park and walk your child[ren] in [in the morning], please walk them up to or into the front foyer. From the front foyer children are to walk through the second set of glass doors on their own to their class. Thank you for your understanding with this as we continue to keep our building safe and our processes and procedures efficient.
UPDATE - Arriving After 7:40am
Please do not park along the red curb in the front drive when dropping off your child[ren]. This drive is a fire lane. This may be used for drop off (driver stays in the car as student[s] get out of the vehicle independently) only. If you have to assist your child[ren] to get out of the vehicle or if you want/have to walk your child[ren] in, please park in the parking lot to walk them in.

Are you interested in being a Substitute?
IMPORTANT NOTE: An absence letter is generated by our system if your child incurs 9 unexcused absences for three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period. This letter is required by law, to remind the parent that it is the parent’s duty to monitor the student’s attendance and to require the student to come to school. If the school feels that a parent conference is necessary, you will be contacted by the Assistant Principal, Ashley Nauta.
