V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! Congratulations to CHS’s Co-Ed Cheer Team for winning this weekend’s Cactus Cup!
MAXPREPS TOUR OF CHAMPIONS
The Chandler High School Football team was recognized by the National Guard and MaxPreps Tour of Champions during halftime of last week’s varsity basketball game against Basha. Chandler High finished the season ranked as the #15 team in the country. This is the 4th time in the past 5 years that Chandler has finished the season in the top 25 nationally.
WRESTLER EARNS 2ND AT NATIONAL TOURNEY
Zach Espalin won second place in Temecula, CA this weekend after losing a hard-fought championship match in triple overtime. The Temecula Battle for the Belt Tournament is one of the top wrestling tournaments in the country. Congratulations, Zach!
ALUMNI SOCCER PLAYER DRAFTED BY MLS
Congratulations to Don Tchilao. Don, a member of the Chandler High School class of 2015, was recently drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2nd round of the Major League Soccer Draft. Don played on the 2015 Championship Soccer team at Chandler prior to attending Oregon State on a soccer scholarship.

CTE TOURS
Hundreds of 8th graders had the opportunity to check out Chandler High’s Career and Tech Ed programs last week during our CTE Tours. Future Wolves were greeted by Scruffy, band, and spiritline, got to meet Principal Rother, heard from a panel of current students, and toured great classes such as culinary, engineering, robotics, automotive, digital photo, design, FFA/Agriculture, and many more! Students also received their 1st official CHS t-shirt. Thanks to CTE, Link Crew and Student Council for hosting the awesome event!
CHANDLER Boys BASKETBALL
CHS’s basketball players are making news on and off the court. The highly ranked Wolves volunteered at Feed My Starving Children last week. On Saturday night the team helped box 54,864 meals which will feed 150 kids for an entire year. Well done, gentlemen.
Come out to Payne Gym this Friday night as the Wolves take on Perry in a huge matchup of region powers. Watch for special activities leading up to and during the game. Go Wolves!
EQUITY TEAM NEWS
CHS’s Equity and Inclusion “YES” team met last Tuesday to decide on events and processes they will use to engage CHS in meaningful culture climate change, and then volunteered their time at the Klezmer Music Festival. Noah Oshust, Donedison Tumaini, Fiona Fajut and Mia Nelson were Will Call volunteers for the Klezmer Screening and Concert presented by the East Valley Jewish Community Center. Other students from CHS’s Equity/Inclusion “YES” team attended the CUSD invitational Klezmer Music Festival and had the following thoughts about how CHS will create change: “Music can express culture” and “Music is a fun way to bring diverse groups together.”

ANTI-VAPING POSTER CONTEST WINNER
Congratulations to Thinh (Bill) Nguyen for winning first place in the Anti-Vaping poster contest in Mrs. Kemp’s classes. The top 3 winners will have their posters printed and hung up around campus to promote the idea that vaping is not a healthy choice for students.

Parents/guardians and Seniors: Goldbeck Photography will here during 1st hour on Friday, February 1st, 2019 to take the annual senior panoramic photo in the courtyard.
Dress code is enforced; no hats, hoods, sunglasses, bandanas, no banners or signs, etc. will be permitted. It will be chilly so students should dress warmly. Goldbeck Photography will return on Monday, February 4th and Tuesday, February 5th during A&B Lunches to sell you your photos.
