R U Ok Day - 8th September
It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation whenever they spot the signs that someone they care about might be struggling.
St Emilie's staff held a breakfast in the morning in recognition of this important day. Brand new sport equipment with the message of R U Ok was distributed across the classes.

The P&F are seeking donations of homemade baked goods such as cakes, cupcakes, biscuits and slices from families, to run a cake stall at the House Athletics Carnival. If you are not keen on baking or are short on time, store-bought items would also be welcomed. We would be grateful if all items could please be nut free and without cream as there is no fridge for storage. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
If you are able to support us in this way, please drop your cake (or plate of slice/biscuits etc) to the front office on Thursday, 15th September by 3:30pm. Ideally, your baked donation will arrive:
- on an environmentally friendly disposable plate/container
- covered with plastic wrap
Please label if your item is gluten-free or allergy friendly. You may also like to buy a cake from the stall on the day to support the P&F and provide your family with a delicious, homemade surprise for afternoon tea! :)
Child Protection Week
This week is National Child Protection Week. This annual initiative is based on the principle that 'protecting children is everyone's business'. It aims to raise awareness about the complexity of child abuse and neglect. It also aims to empower the community to work together to prevent it. For more information please go to the website below.
Families leaving next year
If your family will be leaving our school community in 2023 you are asked to please let us know by emailing the Office and/or leadership as soon as possible. Many thanks, as this assists us to plan and offering places to new families on the waitlist. Please be reminded that unless we are given one full term's notice of an intention to leave St Emilie's, a family will be charged a full term's school fees.
Below is a link to a document that explains our position on class placement here at St Emilie's. Please read it carefully when you have a moment - we hope it brings further clarity to why we feel confident in our decision-making. In saying this, if you wish to make a request please place it in writing to the Principal at email@example.com by Friday 28th October.
Year 1 in 2023 Uniform

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS POST INITIAL POSITIVE RESULT
When an individual receives a COVID-19 positive result, the individual is deemed by WA Health unlikely to suffer from re-infection for a period of 4 weeks. Therefore, further Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) testing when subsequently unwell is not required during this time, as a COVID-19 positive result may be returned throughout this period while the initial virus is being shed.
However, where a person is unwell within their 4-week period and are showing symptoms of COVID-19, WA Health reiterate that the impacted person should remain home until symptoms subside, particularly where symptoms are respiratory in nature (e.g. productive cough).
All unwell COVID-19 symptomatic students should remain home and refrain from coming to school.
