From the Principal
Hello Roadrunner Nation,
Thank you again to those who were able to make our parent zoom meetings last week. We are working hard to have a strong start to the year. This newsletter has both recent links and updated information. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through this process together.
Student Schedules are available to view in Powerschool.
We will have a picture make up day, it has not been scheduled yet. If you are unable to be here Thursday or Friday for picture day or to pick up materials, do not worry we will find a time to get you what you need.

Supply Lists
For the 2020-2021 school year, we will not be charging any course fees or pay-to-participate fees to students.
2020-2021 VPO Board
You can still represent your school spirit from home in one of our cozy sweatshirts or comfy T-shirts! We will be placing a one time order for spirit wear in 2020 on Tuesday, September 15th. We are offering T-shirts ($15) and Hoodie Sweatshirts ($35). All shirts are adult sizes XS-XXL. We will notify you via the email address you provide when and where you can pick up your order once they arrive. Please return all order forms with payment to the school no later than Tuesday, September 15th. Please make checks payable to: Goodman VPO

2020-2021 Student Meal Survey and Information
If your student(s) will be regularly purchasing school meals (based on pricing eligibility) as we begin remotely, please assist the school district by completing the 2020-2021 School Year Meal Program Survey. PSD first sent the survey link out on August 17, 2020. If you haven't completed the survey yet, please do so by September 1. School Year Meal Information
Picture Day & Material Pick Up Coming up
You will need to sign up for a picture time. Additionally, our goal is to have materials available for families to pick up including Student Math Books and Spring Board Books. More information will be sent home early next week about the logistics of this.

Class Schedule Change Request
Here is the link to our online schedule change request form in the event that there is a problem with your schedule. Schedule changes are made if students were placed in the wrong grade-level core class, are missing a class in their schedule, or have duplicate courses. Please follow the schedule you see in your portal until you receive an email letting you know what change was made.
PARENT PORTAL
The Peninsula School District (PSD) uses PowerSchool, a secure web-based system for our Parent Portal and student information system. We recently upgraded the way we store contact information in PowerSchool in order to provide more accurate information and faster communication in case of an emergency.
As we complete the upgrade process, we need all parents and legal guardians to update their contact information for each student.
What does this mean for me?
It is essential that you log in to the PowerSchool account you have for each student in your family. If you do not update each student’s contact information you run the risk of missing important information from your student’s school and PSD including emergency and weather-related information.
What should I do?
Please log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal by navigating to the PSD website, then select the Portals dropdown (from the top navigation bar) and select Parent Portal. Please note: You will not be able to update your information via the PowerSchool mobile app.
Then, simply click the Year Round Update from the left-hand menu to review and update each student account in your portal. Please do this as soon as possible.
What’s next?
Once you update each student’s account with correct contact information, you are done.
We recommend you check each of your student’s information on an annual basis. Any time there is a change at home, please update your contact information as it can be updated year-round. PSD will send reminders to all families at the beginning of each school year.
What if I don’t have a PowerSchool account?
Getting an account is easy! Contact us to get a Parent Portal account letter that will give you instructions on how to create an account.
