What it is..
A tossed stone, a cannonball, or any other object projected by any means that continues in motion is called a projectile. One example of projectile motion is when a punter kicks a ball in football. Another example is when a basketball player shoots a ball. The last example is throwing a baseball from the outfield into home base.

How it deals with it..
The projectile motion is the ball being kicked into numerous things. As the ball travels up, gravity slows it down until it stops briefly at its peak height; the ball then comes down, and gravity accelerates it until it hits the ground or someone catches it.
