Start With Hello Week
October 22-26, 2018
What is Start With Hello?
Social isolation is a growing problem in the United States and within our schools, and it can be linked with violent and suicidal behavior. One study found that chronic loneliness increases the risk of an early death by 14%. Young people who are isolated can become victims of bullying, violence, or depression. As a result, many pull further away from others, struggle with learning and social development, or choose to hurt themselves or others.
Start With Hello Week activities raise awareness and educate students and the community. You’ll be part of a nationwide movement to empower young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness!
This week, start with hello to get to know someone new.
