JANUARY 13, 2022
Today I am happy to report that we are at 1% of actual COVID illnesses within the school. There have been several strands of non-COVID flu-like illnesses in all grade levels. We ask that you continue to keep your children home when they are sick and encourage hand washing.Thank you for working with us to ensure our success.
Mrs. Thielen, school counselor for Columbus Catholic High School, will be meeting with all 8th grade students on January 19th. During this time she will introduce the 4 YR Plan and talk about course requests. Columbus Catholic High School student ambassadors will also be here to talk with students about high school and life at Columbus! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Thielen at 319-233-3358 ext. 1122 or email her at bthielen@cvcatholic.org.
Watch the weather for tomorrow as it sounds like a snowy day!
Blessings,
Lynette Hackett
Principal
P.S. Remember St. Patrick School and Clover Patch Preschool buildings will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Day. No school or day care.
FAITH
The 8th grade students served lunch for Fr. Mel Hemann today. We continue to reach out and share our love with others.
EXCELLENCE
7th and 8th grade students have begun the "A World in Motion" unit. This hands-on, collaborative project brings community members into our building for authentic instruction and encourages critical thinking skills in our students.
SERVICE
This year we have a fantastic group of 5th through 8th graders who will be collecting information, interviewing, writing, and preparing layouts for our 2022 yearbook. This hard-working, creative group met with Mrs. Dobson on Wednesday to begin their planning. Watch for the chance to order books after Spring Break.
