Not All Superheroes Wear Capes

Weekly Update

Welcome back! This week seemed to be jam packed full of events, but we all made it! We had a blast making cotton candy for everyone. We wore most of it, but the smiles made it all worth it!

Keeping You In The Loop:

  • We will be welcoming Cindy Awad, a Price Special Education teacher, to Lyon for the 2016-2017 school year. She is transferring over to take on Mr. Griffin's role. I can't wait for you to meet her.
  • Welcome to Krista Boettler. She will be Lyon's new 3rd grade teacher. She is taking over for Krista Norrid...replacing a Krista with a Krista! Krista comes to us from Clever as a 2nd grade teacher, but many of you might remember her student teaching with Ms. Altermatt and subbing when Larissa Jackson was deployed. Welcome back Krista!
  • Our Kindergarten screening numbers are skyrocketing and Davis didn't even have to do her sales pitch this year! Due to 58 K kiddos already signed up, we have posted a position as of today.

Instructional Aide Support

Ms. Fann is sticking to her research schedule and will still have open times to meet with your students prior to MAP testing. If any students need extra support, please get with her to set up times.

Ms. Fann will also be assisting with FOCUS to ensure Ms. Hicks is making it into classrooms as much as possible.
