ACT Information for Teachers
from the Counselor's Office
New this year with ACT
I just attended an ACT workshop for counselors this week, and I wanted to pass along some information that may help you in the classroom in preparing students for the ACT.
NEW! ACT Academy™
- A free online learning tool and test practice program designed to help students get the best score possible on the ACT test.
- Teachers can connect with students through ACT Academy, watch their progress, and even send them resources for extra practice.
- There is a video below with more information about the teacher side of ACT Academy.
- I will be talking to 10th-12th grade students about this tool and more when I meet with them October 8th & 9th.
- It is not required that teachers connect with students through ACT Academy. It is just an option if teachers want to use this tool.
Preparing for the ACT Practice Booklets
- Many parents and students have picked up a copy at the Financial Aid Night.
- If you need a copy, I have a few more left in my office.
- For a digital copy, go to http://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/Preparing-for-the-ACT.pdf
- There are more free test questions on ACT.org: http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/test-preparation.html. Just scroll down to the free resources.
The ACT Profile for the Class of 2018 (those testing results I give you each year to look at during the curriculum meetings), will not be available until sometime in October due to the additional July ACT testing date data that needs to be included in that report.
