Principal's Message
Dear Vista Families,
We have been very fortunate that the road construction hasn't started on Indian Hill. I will keep you posted if I hear any further information from the Gas Company. The time frame for road work is from present time to April 2nd.
Upcoming Fundraiser:
We will be having a fundraiser with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Claremont. It is for the entire week, January 22nd- January 28th. Please be sure to take the flier or the QR code in order for Vista to receive the proceeds from your purchase. Thank you for your support!
Dental Clinic:
The dental clinic is coming to Vista on February 21st. This is a great resource so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity as there is NO COST. I am attaching the document beneath my message. There is also a QR code that you can scan and submit this document online.
Outdoor Science School:
We are seeing our sixth graders off to Outdoor Science School in Twin Peaks! Students just received their cabin assignments on Friday afternoon. They were screaming and hugging friends because of their excitement. We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our sixth graders. Thank you for all the parental support and fundraising which helped make this trip a reality! I will be up at camp with the sixth graders on Monday, Tuesday and coming back to Vista on Wednesday. The Sycamore principal will be at camp on Wednesday, Thursday and returning Friday with the students. I will be sure to post pictures on our next parent newsletter.
Warmly,
Mrs. Nuanes

December Attendance Challenge Results
Vista struggled in the month of December as we didn't meet our expected outcome of 95% attendance for the month. We completely understand as it was cold weather, cough-cold season, and the flu that was hovering around. We would like to extend this challenge to January. If in the month of January, we reach 90% attendance, students will enjoy music at recess. Should we reach 95%, the students voted on a school wide pizza party. We can do this, Vikings!!!
An Important Note about Attendance
Just a reminder that Excused Absences due to personal reasons are as listed below. Reasons other than those listed are considered unexecused absences. This is a mandate by the State of California.
- Family funeral
- Appearances in court
- Holiday or ceremony of student’s religion or culture
- Family emergency (verifiable)
When you leave a message on the attendance line, please clarify the reason. Thank you for bringing your child to school everyday.
