Rockin' in Pre-K 3
Week of Sept. 17-21, 2018
Curriculum Corner
* This week the focus was on rhyming words. We read stories about rhyming words, wrote pairs of rhyming words, played games with rhyming words, and learned how to read rhyming words.
Please continue to work with your child on rhyming words.
Patterns:
* This week we also worked with patterns and we made some patterns of our own.
Please work with your child on learning what patterns are and how to form them.
Positional Words:
* Also this week, the children were introduced to positional words like:
on top, underneath, next to, and below, etc.
New Songs:
The children also had fun learning new songs where they had to listen to directions and follow them.
This is our last week working with the Shoes Unit.
SEE BELOW at the end of this newsletter for one of our favorite PETE THE CAT songs!
Nursery Rhymes:
Next week we will be talking about nursery rhymes as well. Please read your child's favorite nursery rhyme at home to help reinforce what we share at school.
Birthdays Are A Welcome Event In Our Room.
Please just keep in mind the following guidelines:
1- Contact the teachers at least one day in advance to organize the celebration.
2- Please remember that only store-bought food may be brought in. We have 21 students.
3- Also, if you plan to join your child at the celebration, we ask that you plan on arriving at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon. This is when Rest Time is finished and the children are able to participate.
Here is a souvenir video of Aylin's Birthday celebration! ENJOY!
