The Swan and the Peacock
By Olivia Richey
Once upon a time, there was a swan and peacock. They were searching through a field of golden eggs to find gold and riches. The peacock was set on finding the prettiest one. The swan, however, wanted to find the one with the most gold. They were spending money trying to find the perfect egg, and once you have broken the egg, you must pay for it. There were many eggs in the field. After much money was lost, they had only earned a ton of gravel. They had only one more chance.
While they were searching, the swan found a gray, dirty egg. Meanwhile, the peacock found a large gold and silver shiny egg. Neither of them could decide which egg to pick. "This is the egg with gold," said the peacock, " It is the most beautiful and shiny." The swan believed that her egg had gold in it because it was hidden and was very heavy. They argued and argued until they came to a decision. They would each buy their own eggs and didn't have to give money to the other bird. When they finally cracked their eggs, the peacocks was full of gravel. When the swan opened hers, it was full of gold and jewelry. The peacock begged for some of the money, even though they had a deal. You should never value looks over what's on the inside.
