Mrs. Muñoz's Class
Hello!
Hello, I hope you are all staying warm and well. A few of the students have been sick these first two weeks back, but I'm hoping everyone is almost recovered so we can get back to business. Please remember to call the school when your child will not be here, otherwise they will get marked "unexcused" if we do not hear from you. Also, please keep in mind that the students sit, play and interact closely, so if your child is showing signs of illness (especially a high temperature), it is best to let them stay home where they will be most comfortable to recover. If you have to give them something to make them feel better, that likely means they should be resting at home.
Our e-learning days were a little challenging for me since the first day my power was out for several hours, however, I was glad I had proactively sent out the choice boards early enough so you all had a hard copy. I was impressed with some of the work that came back and the pictures some of you sent, thank you for following directions and sharing your efforts. The students were excited to tell friends some of the things they did, and this offered a good prompt to get them to recall and talk about their experiences. PLEASE...LET ME KNOW IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DEVICE TO LOG YOUR CHILD ON TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM IN CASE OF ADDITIONAL E-LEARNING DAYS, WE MAY BE ABLE TO LOAN OUT AN IPAD TO YOU.
Our study this month is Clothes
Obviously they all know about clothes, so this makes it a good study because it is something they have background knowledge on, but they also can learn more about. It may not be precisely clothes they learn about but more importantly, concepts and details that enhance their knowledge in general. Through the theme of clothes we will learn math, language, literacy, science, and social studies while exploring sizes, textures, seasons, attributes, and preferences. For example, we will draw attention to letters and words on our clothes and talk about what they say and why they might be on our clothes, we will learn small, ,medium and large, and we will learn the purposes for certain clothes such as uniforms and who wears them.
