Boosterthon is Coming!!!
SAVE THE DATE! Our annual fundraiser fun-run will be held on September 22nd! Your child will be bringing information home soon.
Rachel’s Challenge Kick-Off Rally!
We started off Friday morning with Rachel’s Challenge Rally. Rachel’s Challenge focuses on our students showing kindness and compassion towards one another. It was a positive way to get our year started in the right direction! You can find more information about Rachel’s Challenge here: http://rachelschallenge.org/
WATCH D.O.G.S. @ BCE
Calling all Dads! Please come be a Watch D.O.G. at Bear Creek Elementary.
WATCH D.O.G.S. is a one-of-a-kind, school-based father involvement program that works to support education and safety
Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school counselor.
2 easy steps:
1) Complete the Volunteer Check at the bottom of the BCE homepage.
2) Wait 5-10 days AFTER completing the Volunteer Check, then sign up on the Watch D.O.G. link at the bottom of the BCE homepage.
Please call or email Mrs. Martinez if you have any questions!

Morning Drop-Off Clarification:
- SMALL CIRCLE DRIVE: The small circle drive in the front right of the building is reserved for buses and parents with a neon pink parking pass only. All other parents should drop off in the front circular drive. If you need to park and exit your vehicle you must do so in the designated parking spots in the front or side of the building.
- MAIN CIRCLE DRIVE: All students Pre-K through 5th should be dropped off in the front drive of the school each morning. Please pull all the way forward before allowing your child to exit the vehicle. This will help ease traffic on Bear Creek Drive. (Pre-K students will be greeted and escorted to the cafeteria by a teacher’s assistant)
Thank you for your patience and support as we work to keep all of our Bear Creek students safe!

We have a variety of sizes available in the front office to try on. The deadline to order is September 9th!!! Bear Creek Spirit days are on Monday this year and Friday will be our college spirit days!
Community Feedback Groups--We are still looking for some parent volunteers!!!
Bear Creek would like to partner with 4-5 families this fall to host informal neighborhood meetings to gather feedback and gain insight into what expectations or goals they might have for their child’s school. The idea is for a Bear Creek family to host a small group in their home one night in the fall and invite a few neighborhood parents that would like to participate in a question and answer with Mr. Calvert. These meetings will start at 7:00 p.m. and end promptly at 8:00 p.m. If you are interested in hosting a one-time community group please email Mr. Calvert at bryan.calvert@gcisd.net
