Today, our ASB kids held a rally for our Winter Sports teams in the gym. Each winter sports team was introduced and there were performances from our amazing cheer squad! Thank you ASB for recognizing our athletes and giving an opportunity for our students to perform!

Our teachers are finalizing first-semester grades this week. Once submitted, our registrar will process and upload all grades for parents and students. They will be available both digitally and by hard copy by January 16. If you want to digitally check your Fall 2022 semester grades, you may do so through the Aeries portal. If you would like a physical copy of your Fall 2022 report card, please fill out the form below, and you will be contacted via email or phone when it is available for pick up.

Walnut Valley USD is proud to announce the official Groundbreaking Ceremony for a new gymnasium at Walnut High School.

Please join us as we celebrate this important addition to the premiere high school on Wednesday, January 18 at 3:45 p.m.

“We are thrilled to see this project getting underway!” said Principal Dr. Ryan Maine of the multi-use facility designed to provide additional space to accommodate athletics, activities, performing arts, showcase nights, community events, and much more.

“We cannot express our appreciation enough to our community, school district, and all those behind the scenes making this project a reality,” Maine added.

The new 15,700-square-foot gymnasium will feature full-size basketball, badminton, and volleyball practice courts, a scoreboard, bleachers, and weight room.

Walnut Valley USD’s modernization and construction projects are made possible through voter approval of Bond Measure WV, passed in November 2016.

The Board of Trustees awarded the contract to Robert Clapper Construction Services, Inc. at the September 7, 2022 meeting. The winning bid for the project was $7,702,000.

The construction of the building designed by HMC Architects commenced on October 10, 2022 with a duration of 425 days. Completion is slated for January 2024.

The new gym building will be located on the north side of campus across from the existing gymnasium.

In the Spring of 2024, Walnut High School will be evaluated for accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WASC accreditation shows our school meets high standards for operating a quality program. WASC accreditation is an ongoing cycle, including an initial self-study process, creating a schoolwide plan, and hosting evaluation visits. An accredited school is a statement to the broader community and the stakeholders that it is a trustworthy institution for student learning and committed to ongoing improvement.

It is imperative that we hear from all stakeholders, teachers, students, parents, community members, support, and district staff, as we set improvement goals through this reflective process. To reach that goal, we have created an electronic parent survey. Please take the time to complete the survey below and assist us in setting plans to make WHS the best school possible.

Walnut Valley Water District’s annual High School Media Contest is now open! Students have the opportunity to win a cash prize by creating their own media entry sharing their innovative ways and tips to save/reuse water within their community following the theme “Be a Water Saving Hero”. Deadline to submit media entries is Monday March 6th. Please see attached for the approved flyer by WVUSD.

Are you interested in attending Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC)? Attend the in person workshops below to receive help with the enrollment process and complete Connect 4—a process that assists graduating seniors with the transition to Mt. SAC and provides early registration for Fall 2023!

Join Spanish Teacher Mrs. Lamb for a cultural , educational trip to France and Spain during Spring Break 2023. Our Tour will travel to Paris , France and visit the Louvre Museum, Versailles Palace, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. We will travel on the TGV train to Avignon, Provence and also take Fencing and Calligraphy classes. In Spain we will visit Barcelona, Madrid and Toledo , touring the Dali ,Prado and the El Greco Museums. We will also visit Gaudi's Sagrada Familia and take the AVE train to Madrid for a cooking class and finish with Toledo.

Habit #4 Think Win-Win Think Win-Win is an attitude toward life, a mental frame of mind that says I can win and so can you. It’s not me or you, it’s both of us. Think Win-win is the foundation for getting along well with other people. It begins with the belief that we are all equal, that no one is inferior or superior to anyone else, and no one really needs to be. We are thrilled to welcome you to Walnut High School. Your first week was an absolute success! While we know that the transition to high school is an exciting time, we also know that it is a time in which you will have some questions. As your Grade Level Coordinators, we look forward to supporting you each step of the way and answering each question you have. This website has a tremendous number of resources, and we encourage you to look through the content weekly. It is our goal to provide you with the most dynamic high school experience while preparing you for your post-secondary goals. GO MUSTANGS!

Due to many problems and safety issues we DO NOT allow student lunches to be delivered anywhere on campus.

Food, drinks or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is strictly prohibited.

Outside Food Delivery Services such as UBER Eats/Door Dash is strictly prohibited. Food will be confiscated if deliveries are dropped off.

We understand the importance of student nutrition but we encourage students to either use the free lunch at school or bring their lunch from home.

During summer registration, students and their guardians watched the rules and expectations video for the upcoming school year. If you did not have a chance to watch it, please take a minute to view the video to help you be successful this year!

Parents: One thing you will notice this year are tardy or cell phone detention automated emails. If your child was issued a detention for excessive tardies or a cell phone violation, you will get an email with information on the detention they need to serve.

Students must attend every class, every day, and be on time. In order to receive daily credit, students are to bring all necessary materials to class. Students will not be excused from class to get materials. Homework and class assignments are to be completed on time and to the best of the student’s ability. Only behaviors befitting the learning environment are acceptable. Students are to comply with all reasonable requests of any staff member. Dress code will be enforced.
