Hydroelectric Energy

What is Hydroelectricity?
Hydroelectric is using the power of our water to create electricity. Since it is a natural resource and the machinery is very good, there is not much pollution in the atmosphere due to producing hydroelectric energy. The water saved in dams is used to produce electricity. There are a few stages before electricity is actually produced. After going through the first few stages, the electricity is produced and then transferred to the power lines which takes the electricity to homes and factories. There are a lot of advantages to using hydroelectric energy but there are also a few disadvantages.
Our flyer tells you all about hydroelectricity. Hope you learn something from it.
Advantages!
Advantages
Does not produce pollution
Electricity can be produced at a constant rate
The lakes behind the dams can be used for water sports and leisure and so if there were spaces for water sports and all, then building a dam does not stop it.
Disadvantages!
Disadvantages
-If a Drought was to occur, electricity can be severely affected.
-A good supply of rain or snow is needed for hydroelectricity plants to produce.
-Wherever we make dams it disrupts the habitat around the dam.
-Not everyone has water near to use for the dam.
