Spring Concert Updates
Band – May 14th
A message from Ms. Sumner:
Trexler's Spring Band Concert will take place on Monday, May 14th at 6:00pm in the Richlands High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 5:15pm, and students are expected to be in their seats with instruments and music by 5:45pm. 6th grade musicians will be seated on stage, while 7th and 8th grade musicians will have a designated area to sit in the auditorium. After each group performs, you may leave; however, everyone is invited to stay for the entire concert. Each family will be given one free ticket for the performance. Regular admission is $2.00.
8th Grade Only: Please be seated on stage at 5:00pm for a quick rehearsal of "Falcon Fanfare" and "Seven Nation Army" with the high school band!
Band Concert Attire
Ladies: White blouse, black dress pants or skirt (2 inches below the knee), dress shoes
Young Men: White dress shirt, tie, black dress pants, dress shoes.
**Note: Students need to unpack instruments and leave cases in the band room during the performance**
Orchestra – May 15th
A message from Ms. Nosow:
The Spring Orchestra concert will be on Tuesday, May 15th in the Richlands High School Auditorium. Students need to arrive at 6:00pm wearing their black orchestra polo, black pants, and dark shoes (dark socks if necessary). The concert begins at 6:30pm, and admission is free. No tickets are required, and family and friends are welcome!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all family and community members that came to hear our Trexler choral students perform on Tuesday, May 8th. The students did a fantastic job presenting a variety of songs to a standing-room only audience! We hope you enjoyed the show.
Sports Updates
The TMS Boys' and Girls' Track Teams competed in its first meet on Monday, May 7th at Brewster Middle. The boys showed a valiant effort and the girls came home with a first-place finish, scoring a total of 86 points!
Highlights of the meet included: Ashley Peters, 1st in 400m, 2nd in 100m; Mallory Foy, 1st in high jump, 3rd in long jump and 2nd in 800m; Emma LaFave, 1st in 200m; Natalie Mills, 1st in shot put; Lilly Desmarais, 2nd in shot put; Kyleigh Baker, 1st in 100m, 2nd in hurdles; Caroline Cubas, 3rd in hurdles, 3rd in high jump; Macausey Bedell, 2nd in high jump; Sara Branch, 3rd in discus; Elijah Bynum, 1st in 200m; Kai Blizzard, 2nd in both 800m and 1600m; Dylan Ribott, 3rd in discus; Dylan Tesch, 3rd in high jump.
We look forward to seeing the Falcons soar at the final meet which will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 15th at Swansboro High School. Please come out and support the Falcons!
Baseball
Trexler's baseball team played at home against New Bridge Middle School on Tuesday, May 8th, and the Falcons traveled to Southwest Middle School on Thursday, May 10th. In each game, the Falcons were slow to start and unable to put enough runs on the board. Though it was a valiant effort, the Falcons could not overtake their opponents. The final game of the season will be at home on Tuesday, May 15th against the Brewster Bulldogs. We look forward to seeing everyone at the game to cheer on our Falcons as they close out their season!
Athletic Reception
Trexler's Athletic Reception is scheduled for May 21st at Richlands High beginning at 6:00pm.
End of Year Testing Schedule
Please use the following information about testing as you plan for the last two weeks of the school year. Generally, testing ends by noon each day.
6th & 7th Grade Testing Schedule – Students will take the English/Language Arts End of Grade (EOG) Test, Math End of Grade (EOG) Test, Science North Carolina Final Exam, and Social Studies North Carolina Final Exam. ALL assessments will be ONLINE
May 30, 2018 Students will test in Math ONLINE
May 31, 2018 Students will test in English/Language Arts ONLINE
June 1, 2018 Students will test in Science ONLINE
June 4, 2018 Students will test in Social Studies ONLINE

Proctors Needed
With the end of the school year, comes end-of-year testing. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction requires proctors for all end-of-year testing. We are looking for individuals who can volunteer their time for this important task. Anyone wishing to serve as a proctor must be at least 18 years of age. Proctors will be needed from 7am-11am on May 30th, May 31st, June 1st, and June 4th. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Anna Taylor at Anna.Taylor@onslow.k12.nc.us or 910.324.4414. Individuals that volunteer will be provided lunch following testing each day.
