September Level UPdate
#weCODE
Thank you for being a part of our community!
School is off to a great start! It has been so much fun seeing new and familar faces as our LUA kids enter school. My favorite time of day will ALWAYS be greeting your child/ren at the door from 9:00-9:15. This is our committment to you and your child/ren! Did you know that we are committed to welcoming every one of our students with a fist bump and quick conversation? Then, as students make their way to their classrooms or breakfast, they are greeted by our awesome paras. All classroom teachers have made a committment to greeting students as they walk in the room. By the time an LUA student arrives in the classroom each morning, they will have had a MINIMUM of three positive interactions with adults in the building.
We do this intentionally because we know one of the biggest contributers to success in school are relationships! When students are SEEN and HEARD by adults whom they trust, they are more likely to take healthy risks, offer their unique points of view, and become creative problem-solvers.
We look forward to building lasting relationships with each and every one of our LUA students and we look forward to celebrating their growth and learning throughout the year!
Thank you for being a part of our community!

E-Learning vs. Online Learning
We are informing you that LUA intends to implement E-learning days for our middle schoolers this year should it be necessary. You can read a description of the policy attached below.
Online Learning days, on the other hand, are days that we plan in advance. Our middle schoolers have three Online Learning Days planned throughout the year. These are documented on our yearly calendar. Online learning days have more flexible guidelines and allow our middle schoolers to continue learning on days when WBL bus services aren't offered to LUA middle schoolers, but district middle schoolers and high schoolers are in session.
So think about it this way - E-LEARNING days are for EMERGENCY. It's the best way to differentiate the two on-line learning days. See below for more details about E-learning.
Follow our dismissal system to help keep dismissal safe for ALL!
1. Stay in your cars.
2. Right turn only into the LUA parking lot during dismissal times.
3. Transportation changes must be made before 3:00!
We need our front office focused on the dismissal process and not checking email and voicemail during this time. Voicemails and Emails sent after 3:00 will not be checked until 3:45 when dismissal ends. Thank you for your attention to this and for helping make dismissal run smoothly! When our priority is safety - planning ahead is necessary.
One more thing about dismissal...
