"We're Going Places!" - January 14th-January 18th

The next date to highlight on your calendar is Tuesday, January 29th. That evening from 6:00-8:00 PM we will be hosting a parent information night titled: "Harmony at Home: Maintaining Healthy Boundaries & Managing Conflict". We all know raising kids can be very challenging, and we all need help once in a while. Join us for this very informative workshop for some tips, tricks, and important thoughts on raising healthy kids.
That's it for now, folks. We encourage you to visit our teacher websites regularly to keep current on homework assignments, weekly projects, and events. Also, i-Ready is an important at home skill-building tool, so please encourage your child to continue using it for 45 minutes or more per subject, per week to stay sharp on their math and ELA skills. Have a great week!
"Roadrunners in Action"
Boosterthon First Street Fun Run Coming Soon!
Parents! This year’s main fundraiser is the First Street School Fun Run! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on Tuesday, January 15th. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on Friday, January 25th. With our big goal of raising $25,000 for a new intermediate playstructure, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB! Boosterthon’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, our students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Donations will go toward our new playstructure and to the entire two-week experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!

C.H.A.M.P.S. (formerly known as PTC) stands for "Committed to Honoring and Motivating Parents and Students". Parents play a vital role in helping to fundraise, plan school functions, and guide the direction of our school. We are currently looking for folks interested in serving on our board as well as community members just willing to attend our meetings and share input. Click on this link to read over our informational flyer, and please contact Lisa Chandra at email@example.com if you have any questions. Our next CHAMPS general meeting will take place on October 16th at 6:15 PM in the Multi.
Our school district has invested in a great new way to communicate with our families. Peachjar is a program that sends flyers out to families and also saves and organizes them on our school websites for future viewing. Click here to go to our First Street School Peachjar page.
