Principal's Office

Hello, all! Here is our Roadrunner Weekly for the week of January 14th through January 18th. I wanted to begin by highlighting two very important events coming up this month. Friday, January 25th will be our school Fun Run put on by Boosterthon. This will be our big PTC fundraiser of the year, and we hope to raise enough money to fund a new intermediate playstructure to replace our old, broken down one. To purchase and install a new playstructure will cost us somewhere between $25,000-$30,000. We'll be trying to raise these funds through a Donor's Choose site and through our Fun Run. Be on the lookout for more information on both coming to you soon! Please help us meet our goal and provide safe, fun play equipment for our kids! More info is below.

The next date to highlight on your calendar is Tuesday, January 29th. That evening from 6:00-8:00 PM we will be hosting a parent information night titled: "Harmony at Home: Maintaining Healthy Boundaries & Managing Conflict". We all know raising kids can be very challenging, and we all need help once in a while. Join us for this very informative workshop for some tips, tricks, and important thoughts on raising healthy kids.

That's it for now, folks. We encourage you to visit our teacher websites regularly to keep current on homework assignments, weekly projects, and events. Also, i-Ready is an important at home skill-building tool, so please encourage your child to continue using it for 45 minutes or more per subject, per week to stay sharp on their math and ELA skills. Have a great week!

Boosterthon First Street Fun Run Coming Soon!

Parents! This year’s main fundraiser is the First Street School Fun Run! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on Tuesday, January 15th. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on Friday, January 25th. With our big goal of raising $25,000 for a new intermediate playstructure, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.

Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB! Boosterthon’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, our students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.

Donations will go toward our new playstructure and to the entire two-week experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!
