From the Principal
Please check our website for the field trips and end of year events that we have planned this month. We would love to have you join us for some of these events. Please look for more information to come home from your classroom teachers about how you can volunteer and participate.
We'd love to see your children join us for summer camp, so please be sure to fill out the registration form that was sent home and return it to school by May 13th. We look forward to seeing you in the fall and working together to tackle whatever the world throws at us next year, because like our shirts say, we are together through it all! Have a great summer! Kathi Senor, Principal
Art
Wow! What a fun year we have had learning about the many different types of art careers with Elmo! All grades have been creating ceramic sculptures for our school Art Garden which will be located at the front of Wamsley. I'm so excited to see it come together! We will wrap up the school year learning about different kinds of designers, such as automotive designers, and having a school-wide art car contest! Thanks for sharing your kids and their creativity with me in this crazy year. They've brought many smiles to my face! Have a wonderful summer and I look forward to (hopefully) seeing you all in person in the fall! : )

Music
Music has been so much fun as we have worked on coordination and balance! We used scarves to juggle during a piano piece called Le Jengluese (“The Juggler”). We have also been working hard on our singing voices as we prepare and record our end of the year programs for you! We can’t wait to show off what we’ve learned!
Physical Education
Preschool
Preschool is finishing up our Garden study and beginning a study about Bugs! We jumped into our Insect study by exploring and learning about worms! We are excited to release them into the school garden. Caterpillars will be transforming into butterflies right before our eyes, and Ladybugs will make a stop in our classroom before heading to the garden! We will also be wrapping up the year with some fun activities and celebrations!
As a reminder, there will be no preschool on May 20th and the last day of preschool is June 2nd.
Kindergarten
This month in Kindergarten we have been very busy getting ready to transition to first graders! We finished all of our final tests and your kids are showing great effort and growth. We have been learning all about nature and hiking in order to prepare for our upcoming field trip to Rifle mountain park! Your students are also still working on adding / subtracting fluently and reading. Ask your student addition or subtraction problems or ask them to read to you so you can see how much they have learned!
First Grade
As we close out the school year, we would like to thank our families for all of their support. Except for 2 weeks, we have not had to switch to online learning because of your willingness to support our school/district expectations around Covid. Thanks for all that you have done to help us this school year!
Second Grade
Third Grade
Fourth Grade
What a wild and wonderful wildcat school year. The 4th grades have put in the effort this year to achieve many personal and academic goals! We will continue to use that effort to end this school year in a fun filled and enthusiastic way. In reading, we will be learning about natural phenomena by reading informational texts and narratives. In writing, we are working on writing five-paragraph informational essays. In math, we are working on analyzing and generating number patterns. In social studies, we are continuing our government and economics unit. In science, we are starting our Earth systems science. It has truly been a pleasure working with the 4th grade this year. We are so proud of all they have accomplished. Have a fun filled and relaxing summer!
