PBIS for Parents - An Introduction
PBIS is here at Greene! PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. While your children may not be able to tell you that, they can certainly tell you about the “Four Be’s” at Greene School; Be Respectful! Be Responsible! Be Safe! and Be a Problem Solver!
These “Four Be’s” are recognized in every setting in the school day: classroom, hallway, restroom, cafeteria, playground and even on the bus! Every setting has a poster stating the expected behaviors in each setting. Your children are learning about each of these through videos, class discussion and role playing in the classrooms. Be sure to ask them about what they learned.
A big part of PBIS is that these expectations carry over into EVERY setting! No matter if your children are in school, on the bus, at the football game on Friday night or out in the community, those Aviator Expectations are the same. Each week in the Greene newsletter, we’ll be telling you a little more about PBIS, Aviator Expectations, how your children are acknowledged for expected behaviors and even how you can reinforce this at home. For now, be sure to ask about the lessons and find out if your child has received a “First Class Pass” yet! Stay tuned each week to learn more!

Co-developed by the National and Ohio PTAs with input from The Ohio Standard, each guide offers parents an example of the standards and the knowledge and skills children will gain at each grade level, as well as activities they can do with each student to reinforce learning at home.
