The Towler Times

June 2nd, 2015

Dear Parents,

It is time to give you back your children. I give them back inches taller, months wiser, more responsible and mature. Although they would have attained this growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to witness this growth over the course of the school year. I give your children back reluctantly. We have grown close this school year. We have laughed, learned, researched, problem solved, and worked hard together! I look forward to watching them grow in the years to come as I pass them in the hallways and share a smile, a quick hug, or “hello”.

A final thank you to everyone for your support this year. It has been a wonderful year thanks to you. Thank you to those who helped in the classroom with Fine Arts Presentations, holiday parties, Sports Day, Brookfield Zoo, etc. Thank you for your help nightly with homework. Thank you for your overall kindness and support the entire school year!

I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

Invitation to share videos...

This afternoon you will receive an email from me with a subject that reads: Kelly Towler has shared 'End of the year' with you. In the body of the email you will see the following:

Here's the folder that Kelly Towler shared with you.

Go to End of the Year

Click on the link to see the wild weather videos and a slideshow of the photos from our class this school year. The link will take you to Office 365, One Drive. Opening the folder will work best if opened in Google Chrome. It may possibly ask you to sign into Office 365. If you don't have an Office 365 login, you will have an opportunity to login with a Microsoft account.

This summer...

In addition to the math games, please have your children practice math facts this summer for fluency. Keep them reading!! Ask a few comprehension questions here and there to check for understanding. Also, keep them writing. Journaling summer events, sending letters (or emails) to friends, family members or even me are all meaningful ways to keep your children writing. Most importantly, keep the summer work fun! :)

MAP & CogAT Scores

In your child's red folder you will find their MAP and CogAT scores. Progress reports can be viewed online.
