Our Mid-Month School Announcements
November 15, 2013
Early Arrivals & Dismissals
As we enter the cold weather season, it is concerning to see students being dropped off before the appointed time of 8:15am, some as early as 7:50 am. These students are either being let off by cars or are walking to school early. Some of the students should be bus riders and are walking to school. For the sake of safety, this is not permitted.
At Bridge Valley, the student day begins at 8:35am, and students may enter the building beginning at 8:15am, when there is supervision available. Students should not be arriving any earlier.
The Central Bucks Community School offers before and after childcare for families. Should you be in need of childcare, please call the Community School’s childcare program at 267-893-5702 to register your child. More information is also available on the CB website at http://cbsd.schoolwires.net/Page/330.
In addition to students arriving before the start of the school day, we have had many students leaving prior to the end of the school day. While occasional appointments and events cannot be avoided, the regular practice of picking children up prior to 3:15PM (the official end of the BV school day) becomes a disruption to your child's learning and does count toward their attendance. When a student accumulates six hours of early dismissals, it is automatically classified as a full day of absence. Adhering to the car rider, bus and walking procedures in place can help to facilitate a timely and efficient dismissal process with few interruptions to your child's learning and the learning of others.
