Central Office Reports
Shawnee Public Schools has met the criteria to become a Certified Healthy Business and has received Excellence certification.
The Teacher of the Year Banquet is Tuesday evening at Immanuel Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
Spring Homecoming is this Friday at 6 p.m. prior to the varsity basketball games.
The SHS Girls and Boys Swim Teams won the Suburban Conference Meet. They broke several conference records. They will compete at the regional meet this Friday and Saturday.
SHS Junior Hanaa Saidi was selected as 1 of 300 students nationwide to attend the High School Leadership Conference at OU.
Board Reports
Board Member April Stobbe described the success of the 60th annual Snowman Dance sponsored by Tri-Hi-Y. She said about 200 students attended, and she was impressed at their exemplary behavior throughout the evening.
Board President Larry Walker congratulated the SHS Swim Teams for breaking many school and conference records recently. He also mentioned attending the Wrestling Team's recent Senior Night when the only senior was the team's manager. He said he appreciated the school spirit shown during the wrestling tournament.
Other Board Business
- All consent docket items were approved.
- The Board accepted the audit report for 2018-2019 FY as presented by Jenkins and Kemper, CPA.
- The Board renewed several lease purchase agreements to be paid out of Pottawatomie County Sales Tax revenue for FY21.
- All certified and support personnel were approved as presented.
