June 2023 Madison Memo
June 2023
Principal's Message
Dear Madison Families,
The 2022-23 school year is coming to an end! Yearbooks are being sold and end-of-the-year field trips are taking place. I sincerely hope your child's learning experience at Madison has been a positive one. I would like to express my gratitude to students, parents and staff for their dedication, support and cooperation in making our school a wonderful place to learn and work.
The end of the year means we must stay "good-bye" to our fifth graders and students who will attend other schools next year. If you are moving, please call the Madison office at 763-506-3300. This will help in our planning.
On behalf of all Madison staff, it has been an honor to work with you and your children. May you have a healthy, safe and relaxing summer break. I look forward to working with everyone returning to Madison next year!
Your principal,
Dorothy M. Olsen

Madison Students Recognized for Growth Recognition Awards
The district identified students who made significant growth over the past school year in the areas of math, reading, and language acquisition using the MAP, MCA, CogAT and ACCESS. Growth was measured by comparing performance on two of the same assessments in any of the three examined areas. Students demonstrating growth within the top five percentile at each grade level districtwide were identified. Of these identified students, those with highest growth at each school were invited for School Board recognition at the Anoka-Hennepin School Board meeting on April 24.
Front row, all students from classroom 4W - Charles Wargo, Jakob Walton, Barbara Vazquez Anguiano, Bryson Hooten, Samantha Gutz and Moonet Bayissa. Back row, School Board member Marci Anderson, Principal Dorothy M. Olsen
