Art Lines
We find ourselves in the “Merry, Merry, Month of May” and the bees are buzzing with busy intent. We too are busy bees here at Tigerville and many activities and special things are going on as we begin to finish up a wonderful year of growth and development. The art room is also buzzing with fun new experiences such as our current clay projects and end of year art portfolios of work which will start coming home soon. I will be sending home the Original Works piece that was the original piece your child did for the magnets and other products fundraiser that benefited the needs of the art room. Please be on the lookout for these masterpieces. I don’t want them to get crammed into book bags, so I will be suggesting these go home in the student red folders so that they can get to you safely for great memories of this year. I just want to encourage you to continue to find creative time for your students as you enjoy a nice relaxing summer. Many opportunities for artsy adventures are out there for the whole family to enjoy together. Let’s gather up our May “To Do Lists” checking off one by one all of the things we have left to do and finish strong as #weareTigerville 2021-2022!

Library Loop
Students in grades 2-3 are working on improving their typing skills. They have the opportunity to earn an additional award from the library for completing all 3 typing goals. In addition to library class time, they may work on these goals at home or at school.
Music Notes
Well we are in our final stretch to finish the year off strong. I would like to start off by saying the Chorus group did an amazing job on our Musical, Pirates! The Musical. I’m so proud of all their hard work. Next year Aladdin will join us on stage for our Spring musical. If your child will be in 4th or 5th Grade, watch for auditions the 2nd week of school next year.
K4-2nd: We are in our last Quaver Unit for the year. The kids have done great and have enjoyed singing, Dancing, playing instruments, and writing their own music. Don’t forget, Quaver is an awesome idea for kids during the summer. Plenty of activities and music games to play while stuck inside. Also, tell your kids to look for Quaver Codes I may send out in June and July.
3rd-5th: Recorder Karate has been great! The kids have had a blast and we’ve even had a few to reach the Black Belt. I’m so proud of their hard work. I will have students to leave Recorders here during the summer so they don’t get lost, the dog won’t eat it, or maybe because they will play all day and you need a break. If you know your child will not return to Tigerville next year, just let me know and I will send it home the last week of school.P.E. Lines
May has arrived! Soon it will be summer, and I am hoping that all my students will be busy swimming, biking, and playing outside. I will be asking all my students what their favorite game or sport to play outside is. May will have 2 big events that I am looking forward to. The Color Run is Friday, May 20th at 5:30pm and you can register up to and including the day of the race. Cost is $10.00 per person.
FIELD DAY:
We are excited to announce that we will be having Field Day this year from 8:30 am- 10 am on Thursday, May 26 (K4-2nd grades) & Friday, May 27 (3rd-5th grades). Both Field Days will be the same, with only minor changes. There WILL NOT be any water activities. Students will not be getting wet. Students will only need to make sure they dress appropriately for the weather and have on tennis shoes.
We are welcoming parents to come and observe the festivities of field day. If you would like to have an early dismissal for your student, please bring your car tag with you to field day as you will use it to check out your student with his or her teacher. If you are checking out other siblings participating in field day, you will need to take your car tag to that student's teacher to check them out. If you are checking out siblings in grades not involved with field day, you will need to go to the office to check them out. Please note that other siblings cannot be checked out to attend other field day events.
