PBIS Tip of the Month
The PBIS tip of the Month of April is being ORGANIZED. Organization is an important aspect for all students to learn. If students are not organized, this can lead to inconsistences in learning as there is no structure to learning. Here are some items that your child may show if they are not yet organized:
The student may:
· Frequently turn in assignments late
· Turn in assignments completed incorrectly
· Not utilize own organization system
· Forgetful
· Easily lose things
· Difficulty staying on task
· Messy locker, folders, desk, etc…
· Bring wrong materials to class
· Complete work and not turn it in
· Have a disorderly area and workspace
· Have many objects, materials, pens, pencils, and papers out at once
· Shuffle through folders and binders for long periods looking for assignments
· Carry many objects and belongings around, dropping things often
If this sounds like your child, then please work with them on organizing of materials. Go through their bookbag and help them organize, throw out any garbage or what is no longer needed in there. If paperwork is there, show them how to place all paperwork neatly in the bookbag. Also, maybe have the student look on the weekend to ensure that they have everything they need for the week. Pencils, notebook, books, etc. Have your child use an agenda or something like know when things are coming up of importance, such as the Milestones.
Thank you, parents, for helping our students get organized as this will help them with being prepared for learning.
