Five Fishbowls Filled in Every Third Grade Classroom
Third grade was one of the first grade levels to have every class fill five fishbowls, which allowed us to put our big shark in the school fish tank. Keep up the good work, kids!
Coastal Explorer
Mrs. Sonnenburg taught the students about the sea turtle's life cycle aboard the Coastal Explorer.
Turtles
Students played a game which taught them about how difficult a turtle's life is!
Veteran's Day
Reader's Theater was one way third graders learned about the reasons we celebrate Veteran's Day.
History in Plymouth
Third graders were able to see Plymouth Rock and many of the statues in downtown Plymouth.
Grist Mill
The students learned about how the grist mill was (and is) used to grind different grains.
Beautiful Weather
It was the perfect day for exploring Plymouth, Plimoth Plantation, and Hobamock's Homesite,
Introduction
Prior to going into Plimoth Plantation, students and chaperones watch a quick introductory video about what the students will encounter.
A Time in History
Plimoth Plantation runs as if it IS the Plymouth Colony during the 1600s.
Hobomock's Homesite
The children enjoyed talking to native people about Wampanoag culture and loved sitting in a mishoon.
First Third Grade STEM Day!!!
On Friday, December 15, the third graders at H.E.S. will have the opportunity to engage in 6 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) activities over the course of the day. They will travel with their class to each of the different classrooms, where the teachers will conduct a short STEM lesson and activity. It should be fun!!
