Principal's Corner
Hello Eagle Families,
This very strange school year has officially come to a close. I want to thank all of the 8th grade parents and students for attending our event last Thursday. It was honestly the highlight of the last three months of school for me and I hope those that attended felt the same. Special thanks to the 8th grade parents that helped us put that together! They committed to weekly meetings with our admin team to plan the event, ordered supplies, utilized their connections to get banners created, and ensured our 8th grade students were celebrated.
I also want to thank our PTO who has contributed so much to the end of this year. With their help, we were able to recognize staff during teacher appreciation week, get incentives to students who participated in online learning, and throw a great celebration for our 8th graders. Our staff put some thank yous together for the PTO HERE.
Below, you will see a welcome message to our incoming 6th graders. Rest assured, once we know what is happening in the coming school year we will be communicating with both our brand new 6th grade students and our returning 7th and 8th graders.
I hope that everyone reading this is able to enjoy summer and stay healthy. It’s been a pleasure and privilege, as always, to be your principal.
Make it a great summer!

Welcome Incoming Meadow Park 6th Graders!
Meadow Park’s 8th Grade drive through recognition was a hit!
Our 8th grade recognition took a wildly new format this year, and the Meadow Park staff was extremely touched and excited to see the positivity and large smiles as we sent our 8th graders off in CoVid style this year. Students started by tying ribbons to our fence in an effort to form an “MP” in honor of Meadow Park. Their next stop was a celebratory photo booth opportunity followed by a teacher line up as we gave each child a special “goody bag.” Last, but not least, students were able to meet their future high school principal as they received a t-shirt from that school. This was definitely a highlight of the recognition, and it felt good to celebrate the highly anticipated futures that lie ahead for each of our 8th graders. Congratulations, Meadow Park 8th graders!

Meadow Park Celebrates Middle School Northwest Science Expo Participants
In mid-March the young people listed below presented their projects at the Beaverton School District Qualifying Fair and advanced to the statewide Northwest Science Expo. By definition, an exposition is an event where people come together to discuss their brightest ideas and most promising solutions for the problems and possibilities that unite us. When Booker T. Washington opened the International Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia in 1895, he said:
Let this be constantly in mind...from representations in these buildings of the products of field, of forest, of mine, of factory, letters and art, much good will come.
Volunteer judges including university instructors and industry professionals, whose life’s work involves using evidence to evaluate new inventions and data to support theories, remotely reviewed the video presentations and reports these young people worked on all year. For some, it was the culmination of 2-3 years of research that they completed in addition to their classes afterschool. As you read the list, it is easy to recognize the value of the questions these young people are asking. From their questions and pursuit of excellence, ”much good will,” and has already come.
