J.K. Rowling

Background Info
J.K. Rowing is 50 in 2016, born on July 31, 1965, in Yate, United Kingdom. J.K. Rowling, the multimillionaire author of Harry Potter, believe it or not, has had a really hard life. She had to live through being indigent and an abusive husband. Her conflict was character vs. society.
Childhood
J.K.'s childhood was relatively happy. Other than the fact that she was called "Rowling pin" by her friends. J.K. was an author by the time she was six. Her first book was titled "Rabbit". After her mother's praising, she replied with, "Well get it published then."
Working on Harry Potter
J.K. often visits the Elephant House café to work on Harry Potter. The place proudly displays that it's the birthplace of Harry Potter. Even after her breakup with Arantes (below), she continues working on her book while taking care of her daughter. It was really hard for her, as she was penniless, not literally, but enough that she had to re-type her entire manuscript instead of getting it copied.
Life as a Billionaire
Harry Potter sold billions! This transformed Rowling from a destitute woman to one of the richest woman in Britain! Rowling, being kind-hearted, donated millions to charity, she is the president/founder of Lumos and One Parent Families! She also requests that her family be sheltered from media intrusions, journalists often camp outside her house offer money for stories!
Jorge Arantes
Jorge Arantes was J.K.'s first husband, but they got divorced. They were married from 1992–1995, from a very unfortunate situation. The two met in a bar called Meia Cava, J.K.'s eyes caught Jorge's immediate attention, soon they were dating. The dates quickly progressed to marriage, but their life didn't go as smoothly as planned. The two often got into arguments, and one day J.K. told her husband that she no longer loved him, Arantes angrily threw her out of his house. J.K. called the police and got her daughter back. J.K. continued to work on her beloved book while caring for her sweet daughter.

What I Learned From J.K.
From J.K.'s story and her quote, I learned that anyone can get themselves a better life as long as they work for it, and they believe they can.
A Favorite Quote From J.K.
"We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already. We have the power to imagine better."
