Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 6th January 2023
Happy New Year
Learning about the Hornblower
Christingle - Monday 16th January 2023 at 5pm
After a three year break, due to the pandemic, we are delighted to be able to visit the Cathedral for a Christingle Service on Monday 16th January 2023 at 5pm.
Staff will look after the children (Reception - Year 6) after school on Monday 16th January. Please note that there will be no OSCARS after school care on this date. The school kitchen will provide everyone with a free jacket potato (choice of cheese or baked beans) before we walk up to the Cathedral in time for the 5pm service in the nave. You are warmly invited to join us in the Cathedral for this special service. Children must be collected from the Cathedral at 5.30pm.
We are assuming that all children will be staying on at school and eating the jacket potato before the service unless you notify us otherwise. If this is the case, we do ask that you email school on firstname.lastname@example.org to tell us that your child/children will not be in attendance and will be collected at the usual time (3.10pm/3.15pm) on Monday 16th January 2023.

There continues to be high levels of sickness from flu, cold and other viruses, including chicken pox in Early Years. Please do ensure that you let school know if your child is absent by 9.15am each morning.
Indoor PE Kit and earrings
A reminder - indoor PE kit for all children is black shorts and a plain white T-shirt/school logo T-shirt. Grey joggers are for outdoor kit. Please do ensure children have all kit in school. If children have had ears pierced they must remove earrings, if children are unable to (eg newly pierced) then plasters to cover the earrings should be provided.
