Meet your Child’s counselor:
Hello, My name is Marla Morrison and I am the school counselor at Jackson Elementary School. This year will be my 18th year at Jackson! I graduated from ETSU with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I love working at Jackson Elementary, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else. I am actually starting to have children of former students, which is amazing to see some of my former students in the role of parent!
My role as the school is to support students through individual counseling, refer children and/or families to outside counseling, small group support for students, as well as whole group instruction in “Counselor Connection” where students learn about internet safety, being safe around strangers, what it means to be a leader, career exploration, problem solving, friendship issues, what to do about bullying, and various other topics. Besides working directly with students, I am also available to speak with parents regarding any concerns you may have about your child. My direct line is 378-2252 or you can email me at mmorrison@k12k.com. I look forward to an AMAZING school year!
