Message from Geordie
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope our students and families have had a smooth start to the term. On Thursday, our whole school were shaking in their boots, walking the plank and scouring the school for buried treasure to celebrate the Kindy Pirate Day and this morning our Year 5 classes entertained us with their NAIDOC Assembly and Dreamtime Story performance.
We have a lot happening in our Phys Ed lessons with Rugby clinics and preparation for our Cross Country Carnival well under way. Mrs Bowe and Mrs Watson have changed up the course for our Year 5 and 6 students this year which should be a heap of fun and provide some extra interest and challenge for our older students. It is also designed to make the finish line easier to manage and better for spectating. I am sure it will be a heap of fun.
We'd also like to welcome our new students who joined our Bernie's community this week.
After the success of our Mother’s Day festivities earlier in the term, our staff are currently organising a Father’s Day Breakfast on Friday the 2nd of September followed by the Pre Primary Assembly. We encourage our students to bring a significant man in their life to come down for a bacon and egg burger, shoot some hoops and have a chat before school. Please save the date and we will send more info out next week.
Many of you will have noticed that a lot of time, effort and resources have gone into getting the junior grassed area green, level, and healthy. This is working well, and we hope that with a few weeks of love, it should be back to full use soon.

Operation Christmas Child
Thank-you to the generosity of our families who have already brought in the gifts for our boxes for Operation Christmas Child. The students have been very excited to bring in their gifts! Over the next two weeks we will be collecting socks, t-shirts, shoes, scarves, etc. Please make sure these items are new. Thank-you for your generosity and supporting your child to participate in the experience of giving.

Bread Bags
A reminder that we are still collecting bread bags. We have a labelled blue plastic tub in the undercover area that is designated for collecting these.
Covid Reporting & Absentees
A gentle reminder to please use the Self Reporting portal to register if your child is positive. It is important that we continue to monitor numbers across the school and also to provide home learning to those that are at home. Please use the link:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Ordering can be made in person at the canteen or via
Spriggy School.

- Start placing lunch orders! You can place orders up to 4 weeks in advance.
