Eric Langton's Week at a Glance
September 14-18, 2020
Dear Eric Langton Families,
It was wonderful to welcome students back to school last week. There were plenty of smiles and the tone of the school was positive as students learned the new health and safety guidelines.
Please remember that we all have the responsibility for everyone's health and safety.
How can you help?
REQUIRED DAILY HEALTH SCREENING: Parents/guardians must conduct a daily health assessment of their child(ren) each school day before sending them to school.
As noted on the checklist:
· If you answer “YES” to any of the questions and the symptoms are not related to a pre-existing condition (e.g. allergies), your child MUST NOT come to school.
· If you answer “YES” to questions 2 or 3, use the COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool (https://bc.thrive.health) to determine if you should be tested for COVID-19.
· If any of your children are experiencing any symptoms of illness, contact a health-care provider for further assessment. This includes 8- 1-1, or a primary care provider like a physician or nurse practitioner.
Parents will only be able to enter the school by appointment and will be required to complete a COVID-19 self-assessment screening.
Attendance:
Please let the school know as soon as possible if your child will be away and indicate one of the reasons:
- illness
- medical appointment
- vacation
Week Two at EL: September14-18
Regular daily attendance from 8:30-2:20 for students in Grades 1-7 begins on September 14.
It's important for your child to arrive on time due to health and safety protocols.
Kindergarten students will continue their gradual entry schedule. Parent and student intake meetings will take place as planned on Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 16 outside under the tents. Your child's teacher will contact you with the day and time. Full-time attendance for kindergarten will begin on September 21st.
For safety reasons, we are asking students to bring a pack in and pack out lunch and their own water bottle.
School Supplies will again be $45. You can now pay your child's teacher by cheque made out to Eric Langton or you have the option to pay on the Parent Portal.
Please ensure your child dresses for the weather and has inside shoes, a change of clothes, a raincoat and boots at school every day. We need to minimize phone use and students will be spending much more time learning and playing outdoors.
Due to enhanced health and safety protocols, we will have staggered recess and lunch as follows:
