Monk Fryston Weekly News 10.6.22

School target for next week is;

remember to show that you care.

Holiday's in term time.

If your family plans to take a holiday during term time it is important that you apply for a leave of absence using the school form. This ensures that we will not ring you every day to find out where the children are, because we need to assure ourselves that they are safe. Please note that applications for holidays of any sort will normally be declined as a matter of course because the government guidance to schools clearly states that holidays should not be regarded as exceptional circumstances. Applications are available to download from our website, hover over the 'Parents' tab, click 'Useful information for parents' you will find the form in there. Alternatively there are printed copies in the school entrance.

Medical Appointments

We understand that sometimes children need to have medical appointments during the school day. Please inform the office of these and provide a copy of your medical app, eg copy of the text confirmation or email etc.

KS2 Production 12th & 13th July.

We are looking forward to holding a KS2 production again this year. This will take place in the hall on the evenings of 12th & 13th July. Details regarding tickets will be circulated in due course.

Open Classrooms 14.7.22

Our ‘Open Classrooms’ event when you can come into school to see your child’s work will take place after school on Thursday 14th July.

Friday Assemblies - parents invited from 10th June.

We hope to be able to start inviting parents into Friday assembly again after half term. We would love to celebrate with you everything we have done. Please be aware that for a number of our younger children this will be a new experience for them, and they might take a little while to adjust.

School Calendar - keep up to date!

Please remember to keep checking the calendar regularly, as there will be a lot happening in school. We are planning to hold a production for parents, done by KS2 children, there will be a transition day for new classes, an end of year service in church, and other events happening. Dates will be circulated in the news, but the calendar is always the best source of advance notice. This is available on the bottom of each Friday newsletter and on our website.

Parent Volunteers

We are delighted to be able to have volunteers into schools again, and would welcome parents to help us. If you are able to give any time to us, either on an ad-hoc or regular basis, you will need to complete a DBS application. Please contact the office for more information.
