Lincoln/ Madison Feeder
Legendary Leadership * World-class Scholarship
Week of May 16, 2016
Our Vision
The Lincoln/Madison Feeder Pattern prepares scholars to lead, think, communicate and compete as responsible citizens who are college and career bound.
Literacy and Critical Thinking
PLCs
Social-Emotional Supports
Action Planning
Now that we have completed the STAAR testing, we must turn our attention to planning for the next school year. Take time to meet with your teacher leaders to reflect upon the successes and challenges from this school year. Review multiple data sources and seek input from parents, students and teachers as you work to determine the goals for the coming year. Begin the conversations today that will establish the framework for an excellent plan in the 2016-17 school year.
Together, we are game changers for our students, schools and communities. I believe that we have everything that we need to win; in fact we are already victorious. I believe that each of our schools will meet standard with an increase in distinctions. I urge you to believe with me.
Momentous Institute Training- May 16-17
We look forward to seeing you and your teams at the Lincoln High School (Instructional Building) on Monday and Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. Our session topics are as follows:
1. "When Students with Challenges Become Challenging Students"
2. "Relationships: The Key to Student Motivation and Engagement"
Also, please note that the Lincoln High School's Tiger Den Restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch both days. Please encourage your teachers to support this program while they are at our training this week. You should have already received the menu and pre-ordering information. Please bring an appetite for new strategies to support the social/emotional needs of our students.
Final TEI Expert Meeting on Tuesday at Madison
Please remind your TEI Experts of our Final Meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 @ Madison High School in the library. The meeting will begin at 4:45 p.m.
Districtwide Principal's Meeting on Wednesday
Principal and Assistant Principal Evaluations
As was discussed in our feeder meeting, the timeline for the system reviews will begin May 24 and end June 9. Please note that you should be following the same timeline with evaluating your APs. As has been true in the past, the first meeting will be a 2 hour meeting where you will be able to present your binder to support your self rating. Feel free to invite your leadership team to this meeting, and note that the APs will receive the same systems review score as the principal. Because the systems review provides an overview of the leadership team, it makes sense that the scores should be the same. Please check out the link below for more information on principal and AP evaluations.
Madison Collegiate Academy to Host a College "Signing Day"
The Madison Collegiate Academy has accepted 125 students for admission into the program. On May 26, 2016 at 6:30, those students will have an opportunity to attend their college "Signing Day" event at El Centro College West. This will be an opportunity for parents and students to celebrate their acceptance into the Academy as well as into college.
The Collegiate Academy at Madison is a wonderful opportunity for students seeking to change the trajectory of their lives. Participating students will have the opportunity to earn up to 60 hours of college credit which can lead to an Associates of Applied Science while at the same time earning their high school diploma. All of this is being offered for FREE and transportation to the school will be provided.
