From the Principal's Desk...
Dear MHS Students and Families,
Wow! What an amazing couple weeks it has been. After a magical graduation night on Tuesday, we are finishing up our senior activities this weekend. The boat cruise leaves the port at 6pm this evening and the parade will be held tomorrow at 10:30. Meanwhile, the rest of our students have been hard at work. Our 9th graders have been preparing for next week's Biology MCAS, our 10th graders just completed their last MCAS and our 11th graders were introduced as the new leaders of our building at class day last Friday. We also hosted the 2nd annual Mansfield Special Olympics School Day Games yesterday on Alumni Field. It was a very uplifting day! We are looking forward to Underclass Awards Night next week and a strong finish to the year during finals week.
June 7th & 8th- Biology MCAS for 9th Grade
- Please note that these are NOT reverse 1/2 Days
- 9th graders- charge your Chromebooks the night before!
Final Exams Begin June 14th
- June 14th is a full day of school
- June 15-17th are 1/2 days
- June 20th is a holiday (Juneteenth)
- June 21st is designated for finals make-ups only. Students only have to go to school unless they have to make up an assessment.
*Students are expected to attend the designated class periods each day, even if the teacher is not giving a final.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you at the parade!
Sincerely,
Tim Tichacek

MHS Active Minds Students Attend V.A.R. Training
Congratulations to the following members of the MHS Active Minds chapter for successfully completing V.A.R. (Validate, Appreciate, Refer) training: In this training students learned what to say and do to support friends and community members who may be struggling with mental health issues.
Active Minds is a national organization whose mission is to empower young adults to speak openly about mental health, encourage help seeking, and prevent suicides. The MHS chapter of Active Minds chapter is open for all students to join. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 1st immediately after school in room 228.
Abigail Jean (Active Minds President), Mira Daoud, Olivia Doherty, Alana Echols, Cecilia Francis, Sarah Hubbard, and Erin Radley.
A World of Difference Update
A World of Difference met for the last time with our senior leaders last week. We celebrated the successful year we've had and engaged in a friendly competition (and final team building activity) with Giant Jenga. Students interested in joining AWOD should be on the look out for application information in the fall.
Best Buddies Finishes Strong!
Best Buddies has been so busy having fun, we have forgotten to share pics! Over the last few weeks, Best Buddies took to the streets for one of our favorite annual events- our field trip to Flannel Cow! We attended the Unified Track Meet in Franklin, MA in support of all participating athletes. And we brought school spirit and excitement to our home Unified Track meet by arranging for personalized inspirational posters for all of our athletes, balloons, announcers over the PA system, and ice cream from Palagi Bros. Ice Cream.
We are also thrilled to announce our new student leadership team for the 2022-2023 school year. Our new leadership team is already hard at work making plans for the end of this year and beginning of next year!
