Usually have a pouch and are usually found in the Southern Hemisphere. they usually give birth early compared to placental mammals. Covered with hair and almost all species of them nurse their young.
Placental Mammals
Almost 4000 species that include humans (homo-sapiens). the wide range of mammals are from rodents to humans
Monotremes
There are only 5 living species of monotremes. They are the only type of mammals that lay eggs. The five species are: the duck billed platypus, and 4 other species of echidna.
