Carthage ISD Technology Department May 2015
We are now a Google Apps for Education School
CISD will be moving to Gmail in mid-May. Email addresses will not change. I will send an email before the migration so you will know when the migration takes place and how to login. Then Region VII will be with us for email and calendar training. I will email each campus/office the training schedule soon. This email address will also be your Google login.
For a quick overview of everything Google, click here. Google for Education is free and offers so much for our district and your classroom.
Google Classroom will replace eBackpack. If you have files saved in eBackpack, you have until June 30 to save them to a flashdrive or My Documents. Please inform students that if they want to keep any files from eBackpack, they have until June 30 to move or copy these files.
Region VII has lots of Google trainings scheduled this summer. Click here for a complete list of summer workshops in Kilgore.

Message from the Director
May is here and that means Summer is right around the corner. What a great time to attend a workshop or a conference to get you ready for next year. I have listed some of the great ones above. I hope you have the opportunity to participate in at least one of the them.
Also, remember Twitter is another way to get information on anything you are interested in. It allows you to choose the time when it is convenient for you and you can participate or "lurk" anywhere you have internet access. If you haven't tried Twitter, I encourage you to try it this summer.
Also, I have archived all of this years Tech Bytes on the CISD Technology webpage. Feel free to go back and try any of the tools that I have talked about through the school year.
I know you are counting down the days. Watch the video clip below, then enjoy this last month of school and get ready for Summer!
