Geo Bee

This morning we held our fourth annual Geo Bee. The students competed in a competition answering world geography questions. There were ten contestants that have been working hard for today. Our ten students were Armandi Gutierrez, Stefani Falbo, Luke Ralston, Mckenna Peirce, Travis Korn, Olivia Valle, Trisha Panicker, Dan Zarnowsky, Cozie Gwaikolo, and Sofia Bazarbayeva. Additionally, thank you to Braden Buchman and Matthew Mikhelson for being the student helpers. After a great competition Olivia Valle and Luke Ralston finished third, Trisha Panicker finished second, and our first place champion is Stefani Falbo! Stefani will take a state qualifying test for the State Geography Bee. Congratulations to and all of our contestants!

I would like to thank Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Barbash for all of their hard work organizing the event and preparing the students. Additionally, thank you to the RHHSA for securing a CREF grant that helps us hold the GEO Bee. The grant helped with our Geo Bee registration, technology training, books, and the purchase of ten iPads. I am thankful for our partnership.

Sweetheart Dance

Save the Date: The Sweetheart Dance (formerly known as father daughter) will be on Friday February 22, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at the Fuge. Ticket will go on sale January 28th and close February 20th. This event is always well attended. Make sure to purchase yours tickets early!

Valentine's Day Parties

You will receive communication directly from homeroom liaisons about Valentine’s Day activities for each classroom. Like past years, if students bring in cards, we ask that candy or food treats NOT be attached to the cards. Plain cards are fine. If you wish, you can attach a small non-edible treat like an eraser, a pencil, a sticker, etc. Thanks for understanding and following this protocol.

Art Contest

ESS is running an Art Contest for all students grades K-12. The contest will run from February 4, 2019 thru April 8, 2019. All students grades K-12 are eligible, including any children of family members you may have outside of Council Rock School District. The students may draw or paint a picture following the theme: “What would it be like to have class in outer space?” The winning student will receive a $500 gift card and the student’s school will also receive a $500 gift card! Rolling Hills Elementary Community Forum regarding upcoming Renovations and Move – 2019-2020 School Year

As you know, Rolling Hills Elementary will be undergoing a complete renovation during next school year (the 2019-2020 school year). We are excited about the transformation that will be happening at our school. During the renovation, Rolling Hills Elementary will be housed at the former Richboro Middle School (98 Upper Holland Road, Richboro, Pa 18954) for the 2019-2020 school year. Currently, Wrightstown Elementary is housed at this location during their current renovation. There has been a lot of planning to help us prepare for next school year and for the renovations.

During the evening of Tuesday, February 12th, parents are invited to a Community Forum at RHE. Specific information including the location and time are located below. Parents will have the opportunity to learn more about the upcoming renovation and move to the former Richboro Middle School. A presentation will be given by Doug Taylor, Director of Operational Services. Andy Ro, Director of Transportation, will also be in attendance. Besides being a change for all of us, all of our students who currently walk to school, will be assigned bus transportation for next school year.

The evening’s presentation is designed for parents and guardians. We will be conducting transition activities for our students later this school year.
