Bearcat Brief
March 18th
Orrick R-XI School District Families
Over the course of the last few days I have been asked some questions and I wanted to address them:
Will these closure days need to be made up at the end of the year?
We don’t know yet. As of right now, any missed days that are not due to weather, would need to be made up. However, the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is putting together information for school districts to fill out a waiver to excuse the days. We will be filling out the wavier to excuse these days.
What does this mean for Senior activities, Prom, graduation credits, etc.?
Due to the unknown of what the next few weeks will bring, we cannot address Graduation ceremony at this time.
We are postponing Prom! We are currently looking at other dates to have the event. Please know that we will do everything we can to still have Prom. We just wanted to get this information out so people could get deposits back or hopefully return items in enough time.
Graduation Credits: We are waiting for guidance from the State Education Department (DESE) on how that will be addressed and handled. This would include Vo-tech, which students earn credits for attending.
Are there any activities that will still take place?
All activities are cancelled/postponed until further notice.
Reminder: further school information will be coming out Friday afternoon.
