GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMPGrades K - 5 This clinic is an excellent opportunity for beginners and experienced players. Your child will learn basic volleyball skills such as correct passing techniques, overhand passing, approaches, attacking skills, and serving. Who: Girls in grades K - 5 When: Tuesdays, April 12, 19, 26 Time: K - 2nd, 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. 3rd - 5th, 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Cost: $45 Where: Hudsonville High School, Main Gym, 5037 - 32nd Ave. | LEARN TO SKATE/ROLLERBLADEAges 4 and up Class instruction will focus on forward movement, cross-over skating (going around the corners), balance, starting/stopping, and some skating games that are played during skating sessions at the rink. This class will teach the basics of roller skating and rollerblading, including starting and stopping, forward and backward, maneuvering, falling and getting up, balancing on one foot, technique, and safety. We also mix in some fun with games like Dead Bug and the Hokey Pokey to apply newly learned skating skills! Highly qualified skating instructors teach lessons. Skills can be progressed according to each skater, so feel free to attend multiple classes. Roller skates, roller blades, or Fisher-Price skates are provided, or you may bring your own. This is a parent participation class. Any parents that wish to stay and skate with their child during class may do so free of charge or feel free to walk with your child. To allow each skater to improve their skating talent without relying on aid, we do not allow Skate-mate tools during this class. Who: Boys & Girls ages 4 and up When: Saturdays - April 16 - May 7 Time: 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get their skates or blades on. Cost: $38.00 - Cost includes Fisher-Price skate rental, but feel free to bring your own in-line skates and safety equipment. Where: Tarry Hall Roller Rink, 3330 Fairlanes Avenue, Grandville, MI | BRICKS 4 KIDZ TICKET TO RIDE!Grades K - 5 Delve into the history and mechanics of favorite amusement park rides in this imaginative unit. Students will construct a Carousel Swing, Tilt a Whirl, Loop de Loop ride, Swing boat ride, and Merry Go Round. Lessons incorporate principles of physics, described in a way children can understand, such as “G-force” inertia and momentum, as well as math concepts such as “there are 360 degrees in a circle”.
